Ann Larson, 92

Carrington, N.D. - Ann Larson, 92, died on Wednesday, January 7, 2004 at Golden Acres Manor in Carrington, N.D.

Funeral services were held on Ann Larson Monday, Jan. 12, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Carrington, N.D., with Rev. Bruce Vold and Lay Pastor Russell Christiansen officiating. Casket bearers included Eldon Swenson, Ronald Swenson, Darrel Swenson, Allen Swenson, Robert Newland, Eric Larson and Evan Larson.

Anna Katherine Swenson was born January 4, 1912, in Athabasca Landing, Alberta, Canada, the daughter of Gullick and Christine (Gullickson) Swenson. In 1915, the family moved to Minnesota, living at Evansville, Battle Lake and Big Fork. In 1916, the family moved to the Holt, area where she attended grade school and graduated from high school. Ann moved to Alexandria, where she worked as a cook and waitress. She later moved to Seattle, Wash., and Minneapolis, and then moved to Thief River Falls. On August 16, 1945, Ann was united in marriage to Harold Larson in Newfolden. They lived in Greenbush for a short time before making their home in Thief River Falls. In 1960, they moved to Carrington, N.D. Harold Larson died October 8, 1986.

In September 1999, Ann entered Golden Acres Manor in Carrington, N.D. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Ruth Circle, Odd Fellows/Rebbecka Lodge, Senior Citizens, Hospital and Home Sunshine Auxiliary, and Sons of Norway, all in Carrington, N.D. She enjoyed many years of quilting at Trinity Lutheran Church, canning, baking, travel and bingo.

Survivors include three sons, Wally (Pat) of Jamestown, N.D., Steve and Mike (Barb), both of Carrington; three grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Swenson of Thief River Falls.

Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, parents, 8 brothers and 2 sisters.
