Lake Falls - Lillian Langie, 83, died on
Wednesday, July 2, 2003 at Northwest Medical
Center, CNC Unit in Thief River Falls.
Funeral
services were held on
Monday,
July 7 at Salem Lutheran Church in Oklee with the
Rev. Robert Paulson officiating. Casketbearers were
Derek Juneau, Jordan Juneau, Dale Juneau, Mark
Grove, Tony Grove and Leif Fore. Interment was in
Salem Lutheran Cemetery in Oklee.
Lillian
Eleanor Benson was born in Darmody, Saskatchewan,
Canada, on December 5, 1919, the daughter of
Clarence and Elizabeth (Savage) Benson. She
attended rural country school.
On
April 18, 1937, Lillian was united in marriage to
Gilbert Langie in Oklee. The couple farmed near
Oklee. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, playing
cards, sewing and working with her flowers. She was
a member of Salem Lutheran Church and Salem Ladies
Aid.
Survivors
include two daughters, Betty (Galen) Horswill of
Red Lake Falls and Audrey (Mel) Grove of Deer
Creek; six grandchildren; seven
great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary (Ralph)
Newberg of Coon Rapids; one brother, Richard
(Lillian) Ryan of Seattle, Wash.; a brother-in-law,
Thelmer Langie of Petaluma, Calif.; and several
nieces and nephews.
Lillian
was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert; her
parents; and one sister, Myrtle Sammut.
