Harold Lambert, 78

Thief River Falls - Harold Lambert, 78, died on Friday, August 30, 2002 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 4 (today) at 10:30 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. Dennis Raymond officiating. Ida Nordvall will be the organist and Vanessa Anderson will be the soloist. Musical selections will include "Lord Let My Heart Be Good Soil" and "Love Divine Love Excelling." Casketbearers will be Floyd Johnson, Elden Johnson, Daved Lambert, Richard Lambert, Roger Smit and Barry Carlson. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Harold Lambert was born on July 15, 1924, the son of Archie and Julianne (Norum) Lambert in Hallock. He was baptized and confirmed in Two Rivers Lutheran Church near Hallock. He attended rural school near Hallock and graduated from the Northwest School of Agriculture in Crookston.

On June 5, 1949, Harold was united in marriage to Mildred Paulson in Grand Forks, N.D. He worked for area farmers near Hallock and a dairy farm near Blaine for a short time. In 1950, he purchased a farm in New Solum Township where he has since resided. Besides farming, Harold also worked for the ASCS office as a field surveyor for many years.

Harold enjoyed gardening. He served on the Red Lake Electric Board as a New Solum Township board supervisor, on the Middle River-Snake River Watershed Board and also was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Thief River Falls.

Survivors include his wife Mildred of Thief River Falls; four sons, Harvey of Thief River Falls, Harley of Grand Rapids, Randy (Donna) of Laramie, Wyo. and Paul (Beverly) of Roseville; one brother, Phillip (Rose) of Hallock; four sisters, Elizabeth Lambert of Karlstad, Dorothy Flaherty of Emily, Grace (Ted) Smit of Greeley, Colo. and Marjorie Carlson of Arizona City, Ariz.; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents. A00003B2002SP04
