Kvasager, Arne photoOklee - Arne L. Kvasager, 71, of Oklee died on Monday, December 29, 2003, at his daughter's home in Ramsey.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004 at Salem Lutheran Church in Oklee with Rev. Robert Paulson officiating. Casket bearers included Steven Kvasager, Jeff Kvasager, Mark Kvasager, Terry Kvasager, Dean Koskela, Joel Kvasager, David Manthei, Todd Manthei, Erik Nissen, Aaron Nissen and Kristoffer Nissen. Military honors were provided by American Legion Post of Plummer. Interment was in Salem Lutheran Cemetery.

Arne Lars Kvasager was born March 22, 1932, in Oklee, the son of Olav and Kathrine (Mandt) Kvasager. He was baptized and confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church. He grew up and attended rural school and graduated from Oklee High School in 1950. He served in the United States Army from July 21, 1953 until his honorable discharge on June 1, 1955.

In August, 1962 Arne was united in marriage to Roberta Brown in Minneapolis. He was a parts man in Montana and then returned to the family farm. He then moved to Minneapolis as a truck mechanic and returned to Oklee in 1997. He spent winters in Minneapolis.

Arne held membership at Salem Lutheran Church and the American Legion. He enjoyed tinkering in his shop, hunting, rebuilding old tractors and working with metal. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his daughter, Cindy (James) Modeen of Ramsey; a step-son, Kim Van Vickle of Minneapolis; a foster daughter, Linda (Dennis) Breeggemann of Shakopee; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters, Anne (Milton) Manthei of Grand Forks, N.D., Gerda (Arlen) Koskela of Plummer and Helga (Morrie) Nissen of Hitterdahl; brothers, Bjarne (Viola) of Oklee, Goodwin (Lucille) of Plummer and Einar of Oklee; sister-in-law, Donna of Oklee; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Olav, Jr. and Otto; and a sister, Annie in infancy.
