Mary Kukowski, 88

Greenbush - Mary A. Kukowski, 88, died Saturday, April 7, 2001 at the Greenbush Nursing Home in Greenbush.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday, April 11) at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Leo with Father Don Braukmann officiating. Marlene Pulczinski and Anne Stolp will be the eucharistic ministers. Music will be provided by Mitch Walski, and A. J. Pulczinski will be the reader. Giftbearers will be Leonard and Thelma Janousek and Ernie and Karen Janousek. Casketbearers will be Greg Pulczinski, Mike Pulczinski, Gene Janousek, Derek Janousek, Josh Janousek and Dillon Janousek. Interment will be in St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery at Leo.

Visitation was held Tuesday, April 10, after 6 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service and the Rosary at Collins Funeral Chapel in Greenbush. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to services at the church.

Mary A. Blazek was born on May 9, 1912 at Greenbush, the daughter of John and Stella (Kozel) Blazek. She attended school and grew up in the Haug-Leo area north of Greenbush and was baptized and confirmed at St. Aloysius Catholic Church near her home. She lived and farmed on the family homestead in Soler township.

On August 22, 1959, Mary was united in marriage to Frank Kukowski at Leo. The couple made their home on the farm in Soler township. After Frank's death on March 16, 1980, Mary continued to make her home on the farm until six years ago when she moved to the Greenbush Nursing Home.

She was a life-long member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church.

Mary is survived by several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two brothers in infancy; and a sister, Frances.
