Hilma Kruse, 81

Greenbush - Hilma Kruse, 81, died Sunday, February 24, 2002 at the Greenbush Nursing Home in Greenbush.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 2, 2002 at Faith Lutheran Church in Badger with Rev. Erling Huglen officiating. Gladys Paulson served as the organist, and vocal music was provided by Pastor and Mrs. Huglen. Casketbearers were Jason Kruse, Curtis Wiskow, Alex Ismil, Jeff Gregerson, Raymond Ismil, and Joe Ismil. Interment was in Klondike Cemetery in Badger with Collins Funeral Home of Greenbush in charge of the arrangements.

Hilma Ann Peterson was born on May 8, 1920 in Huss Township of Roseau County near Strathcona, the daughter of Erick and Hilda (Anderson) Peterson. She grew up and attended school near Strathcona and was baptized and confirmed at Klondike Lutheran Church near her home.

In September of 1939, Hilma was united in marriage to William Kruse at Klondike Lutheran Church. The couple lived and farmed in Huss Township. After William's death on January 8, 1963, Hilma continued to live on the farm until 1993 when she moved to North Star Apartments in Roseau. She also spent 15 winters in Phoenix, Ariz. with her son, David. In December of 2000, she moved to the Greenbush Nursing Home where she had since resided.

For many years, she was a member of Klondike Lutheran Church. Most recently, she belonged to Faith Lutheran Church near Badger.

Hilma is survived by two sons, David (Sue) of Phoenix, Ariz. and Peter (Ruth) of Roseau; a daughter, Ruth (Ardell) Gregerson of Coon Rapids; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and a sister, Signe. A00003B2002MR06
