Larry Kron, 62

Thief River Falls - Larry Kron, 62, died Sunday, April 28, 2002 at his home in Marshall County.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 2, at Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls with Rev. Ollie Urdahl officiating. Naomi Zak was the soloist. Casketbearers were Brian Mills, Randy Wright, John Johnson, Ted Schmitz, Alan Newton, Scott Peters, and Alan Zak. Interment was in Viking Cemetery in Viking.

Larry Leonard Kron was born on October 11, 1939 in Thief River Falls, the son of Elmer and Evelyn (Wood) Kron. He was baptized and confirmed at the Covenant Church in Rosewood and attended elementary and high school in Thief River Falls.

While serving in the U.S. Army for 22 years, Larry was stationed in Germany, Vietnam, Fort Ord, and Hawaii. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to the Thief River Falls area and was employed as an electrician for the City of Thief River Falls for 26 years. Larry retired on October 31, 2001.

He was a member of Ducks Unlimited, Deer Hunters Association, Varmint Hunters Association of South Dakota, and the Teamsters Union. He also had various duties with the Forkhorn Association, a youth division of the Deer Hunters Association.

Larry enjoyed reading, target shooting, prairie dog hunting, and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include three daughters, Colleen Kron of Minneapolis, Tammy Siders of South Dakota, and Teresa (Marc) Peterson of Sioux Falls, S.D.; five grandchildren; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceding Larry in death were his parents; a son, Bill; and many aunts and uncles. A00003B2002MY08
