Kotschevar, 73
Richville
- Gene Kotschevar, 73, of Richville and
formerly of Thief River Falls, died Thursday,
January 8, 2004, at the Perham Memorial Hospital.
Memorial
services were held Tuesday, Jan. 13, at
Schoeneberger Funeral Home in Perham, with Rev.
Jerry Nordick officating.
Richard
was born January 23, 1930, in Brainerd, the son of
Peter and Ruth (Lempe) Kotschevar. He was raised
and attended school in St. Cloud. Richard served in
the U.S. Army during the Korean War for two years.
After
an honorable discharge from the service, he was
united in marriage to Patricia Puff in 1954. In
1958, Richard graduated from St. Cloud State
University. The couple then moved to Thief River
Falls, where Richard taught high school industrial
arts and served as the director of the Northwest
Vocational Center until his retirement.
After
retirement, Richard and Pat made their home on
Marion Lake, near Perham, where he served as the
president of the Lake Marion Association. While
living at the lake, Richard continued to enjoy
woodworking, fishing, hunting and visiting with the
neighbors. Richard also was a member of VFW Post
4020 in Perham.
Survivors
include his wife; one son, Mark (Joan) of
Rochester; one daughter, Pam (Terry) Liebscher of
Hillsboro, Ill.; three grandchildren; and one
brother, Ron of St. Cloud.
He
was preceded in death by his parents.
