Thorine Kolshus, 95 Oklee - Thorine Kolshus, 95, died on Thursday, March 13, 2003 at McIntosh Manor Nursing Home in McIntosh. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 21 at 1 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Service in Oklee with the Rev. Robert Paulson officiating. Marian Marquis will be the organist. Interment will be in Valle Cemetery in Chester Township of Polk County. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Thorine Kolshus was born on July 18, 1907, the daughter of Gunder and Gunhild (Langie) Kolshus. She grew up in rural Oklee and was confirmed at the age of 13. In Thorine's younger years, she worked as a housekeeper. She lived most of her life on the family farm with her brothers, where she raised her daughter and helped take care of the farm. Thorine was a member of the Valle Ladies Aid and served as the treasurer for 11 years. Survivors include a daughter, Elaine Wagner of Palmdale, Calif.; a grandson; three nieces; and one nephew. Thorine was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Harry, Ed (Gladys), Almond and Ole; three sisters, Tillie (Knute) Charlson, Gertrude (Oscar) Anderson and an infant sister; and one nephew.
