Lake Falls - LuVerne Knutson, 77, died on
Wednesday, May 26, 2004 at the Hillcrest Nursing
Home in Red Lake Falls.
Funeral
services were held on
Tuesday,
June 1 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Warren.
Interment was held at Comstock Cemetery in Radium.
LuVerne
Mae Knutson was born on July 17, 1926 in Radium,
the daughter of Gardy and Verna Lenhart. She was
raised in the Radium area where she attended
country school.
On
October 29, 1946, she was united in marriage to
Kinton Knutson in Warren. They made their home in
Radium. In 1987, they moved to Warren. Kinton died
on June 26, 1993.
She
enjoyed doing embroidery and quilting. LuVerne was
also active in the Senior Citizen Center's
activities. In the last year, she attended her
first Shrine Circus, went camping and took her
first pontoon boat ride.
LuVerne
was a Gold Star Mother.
Survivors
include two sons, Ronald Knutson of Great Falls,
Mont. and Jerry (Cheryl) Knutson of Grand Rapids;
three daughters, Elaine (Mark) Pederson of Warren,
LaVon (Jeff) Lannoye of Thief River Falls and
Beverly (Conrad) Kostrzewski of Warren; 17
grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three
brothers, Lloyd (Violet) Lenhart and Donald
(Bernice) Lenhart all of Thief River Falls and
Marvin Lenhart of South Carolina; four sisters,
Fern Nelson, Arlyne Soiney and Patsy Elliot all of
Thief River Falls and Betty (Don) Ballard of
Fulton, N.Y.; one brother-in-law, Herman (Helen)
Knutson of Thief River Falls; and many nieces and
nephews and special friends.
She
was preceded in death by her parents; her husband,
Kinton; one son, Larry; two brothers, Wayne and
Dennis; and one sister, Faye.
