Warroad
- Harland Victor Knutson, 81, died on Tuesday,
December 17, 2002 at Northwest Medical Center in
Thief River Falls.
Memorial
services were held on
Saturday,
December 21 at Zion Lutheran Church in Warroad. His
ashes will be laid to rest at the Holt
Cemetery.
Harland
Victor Knutson was born on April 23, 1921, the son
of John H. and Inga (Surmo) Knutson in East Valley
Township of Marshall County. He attended Pleasant
View School in Mud Lake and graduated from Lincoln
High School in Thief River Falls in 1939. He was
baptized and confirmed at Nazareth Lutheran Church
in Holt and was currently an active member of the
Zion Lutheran Church in Warroad.
On
July 9, 1942, Harland married Violet Claussen in
Germantown. He was married to Marlys Vettleson on
December 2, 1978. He farmed for several years,
worked as manager of the Grain, Feed and Seed
Elevators in Thief River Falls, taught at the Thief
River Falls AVTI, and owned the H&R Block
Income Tax offices in Thief River Falls, Oklee,
Bagley, Roseau and Warroad. He retired on May 1,
1992.
Survivors
include his wife; two daughters, Sharon (Bruce)
Russell of Thief River Falls and Holly Wilson of
Grand Forks, N.D.; four grandchildren; eight
great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews
and cousins.
Harland
was preceded in death by his parents; three
sisters, Hazel, Ellennor and Myrtle; and two
brothers, Arthur and Raymond.
