George F. Knudsen, 57

Thief River Falls - George F. Knudsen, 57, died Friday, Feb. 28, 2003, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, N.D.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday March 5 (today) at 10:30 a.m. in the Johnson Green Funeral Service Chapel in Thief River Falls with Rev. James Howard officiating. Pallbearers will be all of George's friends and families in attendance. The soloist will be Lauren Bernard. Barbara Bernard will be the flutist. Lindsey Bernard will be the pianist. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls in the spring. The Thief River Falls American Legion Post and Thief River Falls VFW Post will take care of military honors.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday (today) one hour prior to services at the Funeral Home.

George F. Knudsen was born June 26, 1945 near Blackduck, where he was raised and educated. He entered the US Army on July 3, 1960 and served until his honorable discharge November 1974. On March 14, 2001, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Bradshaw in White Eagle, S.D. They lived in Thief River Falls, where he worked on cars, built homes and worked as a handyman in the area. George enjoyed his cat "Sammy," went fishing and enjoyed the time spent with his family. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion Posts in Thief River Falls.

Survivors include his wife Marilyn Knudsen of Thief River Falls, stepchildren Travis Bradshaw and Alicia Bradshaw, both of Thief River Falls, and Shaun Bradshaw of Newfolden.

George was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters.
