Greenbush
- Antoinette "Toni" Kjos, 67, died on Saturday,
May 31, 2003 at her home.
Funeral
services were held on Tuesday, June 3 at Blessed
Sacrament Catholic Church in Greenbush with the
Rev. Don Braukmann officiating. Casketbearers were
Nicholas Scheet, John Scheet, Jesse Pulczinski,
LeRoy Omdahl, Todd Franks and Hector Reese, Jr.
Honorary casketbearers were all those who attended
the service. Interment was in Blessed Sacrament
Cemetery in Greenbush.
Antoinette
"Toni" Violet Pulczinski was born in Greenbush on
February 14, 1936, the daughter of Vincent and
Frances (Pietruszewski) Pulczinski. She attended
school and grew up in Greenbush and was baptized
and confirmed at St. Aloysius Catholic Church of
Leo.
On July
5, 1955, she was united in marriage to Clayton Kjos
at St. Aloysius in a double ceremony with her
sister, Bernie. Since their marriage, the couple
has made their home in Greenbush. She was a member
of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Toni began as
a volunteer at the Greenbush Public Library in
1976, and in 1984, became the head librarian, a
position she held until retirement in September
1999. She enjoyed bird watching, quilting and
embroidery, and was an especially accomplished
gardener.
Survivors
include her husband, Clayton; three sons, Roger of
Bemidji, Brian (Rachel) of Greenbush, and Denis
(Diane) of Greenbush; four daughters, Kristi Scheet
of Dresser, Wisc., Maureen (Donovan) Langaas of
Greenbush, Angela Tisdell of Bemidji, and Carol
Kalka of Greenbush; 10 grandchildren; two brothers,
Henry (Linda) of Lancaster, and Dominic (Judy) of
Greenbush; seven sisters, Bernadette (Hector) Reese
of Greenbush, Marie (Robert) Ravera of West Covina,
Calif., Paulette (Richard) Stegeman of Detroit
Lakes, Elizabeth (Bruce) Duray of Billings, Mont.,
Janice (Donald) Ryan of Thief River Falls, Marci
(Craig) Lindahl of Thief River Falls, and Joette
(Gerry) Ode of Badger; in addition to many nieces,
nephews and other relatives.
Antoinette
was preceded in death by her parents, one brother
in infancy, and a son-in-law, D.J.
Kalka.
