Red
Lake Falls - Marion Keifenheim, 83, died on
Saturday, August 16, 2003 at her home in Red Lake
Falls.
Mass
of Christian Burial will be
held
at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 21 at the St.
Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Tim Bushy
officiating. Casketbearers will be John Keifenheim,
Woodrow Keifenheim, Jessie Keifenheim, Adam
Keifenheim, Allen King, Andy Hennig and Matt
Katzenmaier. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8
p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake
Falls on Wednesday, August 20 with a 7 p.m. prayer
service. Visitation will also be held for one hour
prior to services at the church on Thursday.
Interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery
in Red Lake Falls.
Marion
Helen Gerardy was born in Red Lake County on April
4, 1920, the daughter of Matt and Christine (Reiff)
Gerardy. She attended country school for eight
years and graduated from Plummer High School in
1937. She attended Aakers Business College in Grand
Forks, N.D. After graduating, she accepted a job in
the ASCS office in Red Lake Falls. She later worked
in Crookston and Moorhead civil service
positions.
On
April 12, 1945 Marion was united in marriage to
Capt. Edward Lynn Keifenheim in Plummer. She
followed her husband to AAA School in El Paso,
Texas, then to Command and General Staff School in
Leavenworth, Kan. Following the war, the couple
settled in Red Lake Falls. Marion was a homemaker.
She was active in the St. Joseph Church, American
Legion Auxiliary and the hospital auxiliary. She
enjoyed her family, playing cards, golfing, her
friends, traveling and 24 years of winter vacations
in Arizona.
Survivors
include her husband, Lynn of Red Lake Falls; four
sons, Jim (Linda) of Minneapolis, Gary (Mary) of
Elk River, Bruce (Martha) of East Grand Forks and
Charlie (Dana) of Buffalo; two daughters, Carole
(Volker) Hennig of White Bear Lake and Patrice
(Jim) Katzenmaier of West St. Paul; 15
grandchildren; and one brother, Gerald (Norma)
Gerardy of San Diego, Calif.
Marion
was preceded in death by her parents; one brother,
Walter Gerardy; and two sisters, Florence Rausch
and Louella Chapiewski.
