Florian
- Anthony "Tony" Kazmierczak, 61, died on
Saturday, February 14, 2004 at the Altru Hospital
in Grand Forks, N.D.
Funeral
services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb.
20, at the Assumption Catholic Church in Florian.
Interment will be held at Assumption Cemetery in
Florian.
Visitation
will be after 5 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service
on Thursday, Feb. 19 at the Assumption Catholic
Church in Florian and one hour before services at
the church on Friday.
Anthony
Kazmierczak was born on July 30, 1942, in
Crookston, the son of John Sr. and Leokadia
(Kuznia) Kazmierczak. He was raised in the Florian
area and graduated from Stephen High School in
1960. On September 4, 1972, he married Bonita
Schmitz at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Red Lake
Falls. They made their home in Strandquist. Tony
farmed for many years with his brothers. He drove
school bus for Strandquist school for eight years
and worked nine years at Arctic Cat until his
retirement in May 2003. He also worked for area
farmers. Bonita passed away in 2001.
He
was a member of the Assumption Church, PNA and
Karlstad Eagles.
Tony
loved spending time with family and friends,
hunting, shaking dice and playing cards and bingo.
Left
to mourn his passing are five children: Jeffrey
(Tanya) Kazmierczak and Phillip Kazmierczak all of
Thief River Falls, and Paul (Amber) Kazmierczak of
McIntosh, Juanita (Mike) Wilson of Goodridge, and
Carol (Mike) Bring of Newfolden. Also surviving are
nine grandchildren; two sisters, Scholastica
(Jerome) Walter of South St. Paul, and Dorothy
Laundry of St. Paul, and brother, Dory Kazmierczak
of Scandia.
He
was preceded in death by his parents; his wife;
sisters, Mary Ann and Lucy and brothers, Mickoli,
John, Henry and Timothy.
