- Steven Kaml, 88, died Tuesday, October 9,
2001 at Roseau Area Hospital in Roseau.
A
memorial service with discourse by his grandson,
Darrel Kaml, was held Saturday, October 13, at 2
p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in
Roseau. Inurnment will be in Home Cemetery at
Roseau at a later date.
Steven
Thomas Kaml was born on December 28, 1912 in
Barnett Township of Roseau County near Greenbush,
the son of Ludwig and Agnes (Hlucny) Kaml. He
attended school in District 88 in Barnett
Township.
On
June 6, 1934, he married Helen Gust at Badger.
Steven farmed his entire life in Barnett Township.
He was an active sawmill operator and avid gardener
and also made violins.
He
enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Steven
is survived by his wife, Helen; three sons, Frank
(Dolores) Kaml of Cook, Arnold (Nora) Kaml of
Roseau and Willard Kaml of Trapper Creek, Alaska;
two daughters, Arlene (Art) Heldt of Bemidji and
Betty Castle of Roseau; 26 grandchildren; 46
great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren;
a brother, Andrew (Doris) Kaml of Phoenix, Ariz.
and a sister-in-law.
He
was preceded in death by his parents; a
granddaughter, Dlonra Kaml; a daughter-in-law,
Margaret Kaml; three sisters, Julia Shimpa, Annie
Penas and Katie Shimpa; and seven brothers, Lunwig,
Anton, Otto, Joe, George, Paul and Victor Kaml.
