Miranda Kaml, 78

Greenbush - Miranda Kaml, 78, died Monday, April 30, 2001 at Sheltering Oaks Manor at Roseau.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 6, at Bethel Lutheran Church at Greenbush with Rev. Ernie Christensen officiating. Joan Haugen was the organist, and Marie Olson was the vocalist. Casketbearers were her grandchildren, Leora Harrison, Lynette Gustafson, Brian Berge, Colleen Kukowski, Mary Kaml, Scott Kaml, Victor Kaml Jr., Vernon Kaml Jr., Vernette Kaml, Tonya Kaml and Bradley Kaml. Interment was in Bethel Lutheran Cemetery at Greenbush with Gieseke Funeral Chapel in charge of the arrangements.

Miranda Dvergsten was born on July 13, 1922 at Greenbush, the daughter of Elmer and Mathilda (Williamson) Dvergsten. She graduated from Greenbush High School in 1941.

On March 17, 1944, Miranda married Lester Olson of Wannaska. He died in January of 1946, leaving his wife and daughter, Lois Mae.

On June 28, 1947, Miranda married Victor Kaml. The couple farmed in Barnett township of Roseau county near Greenbush for several years.

She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church, a long-time member of the VFW Auxiliary at Badger and was president of the Square Dancers Club for 25 years.

Miranda enjoyed square dancing, farming, entertaining friends, traveling to Texas and Yuma, Ariz. in the wintertime and especially, spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband, Victor Kaml; a daughter, Lois (Harvey) Berge of Badger; two sons, Victor E. (Cathy) Kaml and Verlyn (Julie) Kaml, both of Greenbush; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Harvey (Erine) Dvergsten of International Falls; and two sisters-in-law.

Miranda was preceded in death by her parents; first husband; a son, Vernon Kaml; a granddaughter, Kay Lynn Berge; three brothers, Arnold, Clifford and Orville Dvergsten; two nephews; and a niece.
