Kaiser, 67
Mahnomen
- Ted Kaiser, 67, died on Wednesday, May 7,
2003, at his home.
Mass of
Christian Burial was held on Saturday, May 10 at
St. Michael's Catholic Church in Mahnomen with the
Rev. Rick Lambert officiating. Carla Janisch was
the pianist and Carol Liebl was the song leader.
Casketbearers were Roger Knutson, Randy Knutson,
Maurice Stalboerger, Michael Stalboerger, Pat
Stalberger and Joe Kaiser. Interment was in St.
Michael's Catholic Cemetery in Mahnomen.
Theodore
John Kaiser was born on March 13, 1936, the son of
Leo and Anna (Liebl) Kaiser, in Waukum Township of
rural Gary. He was raised on the family farm and
attended St. Michael's elementary school in
Mahnomen. He was active in sports during high
school and was named all conference, honorable
mention to the All State football team and was the
team captain. After graduation, he worked in
Oklahoma for a year and then worked in Fargo, N.D.,
as a welder for Fargo Tank for a year.
On
November 9, 1957, he married Shirley Lien in
Mahnomen. The couple made their home on the family
farm and began farming with Ted's brother. He later
took over the dairy and grain farming operation,
which he operated until his retirement in 1996. He
kept active on the farm, helping his sons.
Ted was a
lifetime member of St. Michael's Catholic Church
and an honorary member of the Mahnomen KCs. He
enjoyed fishing, welding and deer hunting. He and
Shirley spent years snowmobiling and were members
of the Snow Drifters Snowmobile Club. Ted was also
a pitcher for the GTA softball team while his sons
played. He loved to enter tractor and pickup
pulling contests at local county fairs.
Survivors
include three daughters, Sandra (Paul) Peterick of
Thief River Falls, Sherry (Paul) Radermacher of
Casselton, N.D., and SuzAnn Kaiser of Dilworth;
three sons, Rick (Marilyn) of Mahnomen, David
(Mary) of Gary, and Leo of Gary; one brother, James
(Emme) of Halstad; four sisters, Marie Kniep of
Bloomington, Audrey Stalboerger of Dilworth, Reine
(Art) Stalberger of Ogema, and JoAnn Loehr of
Appleton; and nine grandchildren.
Theodore
was preceded in death by one brother, Donald; two
infant brothers; one granddaughter; and his wife,
Shirley.
