Falls - Olivine Robidoux Juneau, 89, died
Monday, March 8, 2004 at the Cannon Falls Community
Hospital.
A
memorial service was held at
St
Pius V Catholic Church in Cannon Falls on Friday,
March 12.
Interment
will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery in Brooks on
Saturday, May 22 at 11 a.m., with a luncheon to
follow at the St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Olivine
was born on May 14, 1914 in Brooks, the daughter of
Azilda and Narcisse Robidoux. She attended the
Brooks Public School until high school, when she
left home to attend Mount St. Benedict Academy in
Crookston, as a boarding student.
On
February 3, 1947, she married John Juneau. While
living in Brooks, she served as treasurer of Poplar
River Township, treasurer for the city of Brooks
and served on several committees for the Northwest
Regional Commission on aging, transportation and
health care.
She
was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in
Brooks and later, St. Pius V Catholic Church. She
taught religious education for many years, was a
member of St. Anne's Society and was one of the
founders of the St. Joseph's Quilts, making
hundreds of quilts to raise money for the church.
Olivine
was employed as a bookkeeper at the Brooks Grain
Elevator until retirement. In 1983, she moved to
Cannon Falls. She was an avid quilter and card
player.
She
enjoyed being with her five grandsons, taking great
pride in their accomplishments.
Survivors
include her daughter, Marie (James) Burkhardt of
Cannon Falls and five grandchildren.
She
was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters,
Albina, Mary and Eliza; her brothers, Narcisse,
Peter, Paul and Ralph; as well as her husband John
