on Monday, July 7 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in
Red Lake Falls with the Rev. Tim Bushy officiating.
Joseph
Anthony Juneau was born in Terrebonne on December
12, 1919, the son of Alcime and Georgeanna
(LaFevvre) Juneau. He was baptized and confirmed at
St. Anthony Catholic Church in Terrebonne. He grew
up and attended school in Terrebonne. He was
employed at Smith Paper Mill in Red Lake Falls and
farmed until he entered the United States Navy,
where he served from June 8, 1942 until December
14, 1945.
In
1947, he married Christine Kastelac. He worked in
Duluth for a short time and at American Crystal
Sugar in Crookston from 1953 to 1967. Joseph also
worked at Arctic Cat for a few years. He farmed his
whole life in the Terrebonne area. He enjoyed
fishing, farming and reading. He was a member of
the American Legion in Crookston and Red Lake Falls
and was a member of the Eagles and VFW, both in
Thief River Falls.
Survivors
include a son, Dan (Rhonda Schnacky) of Red Lake
Falls; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter;
and sisters, Clara Tessier of Downey, Calif., and
Rose Juneau of Red Lake Falls.
Joseph
was preceded in death by his wife, Christine; his
parents; and brothers and sisters, Dorothy,
Mathilda, Isadore, Alcime Jr., Edward and John
Juneau.
