Ruth
A. Johnson, 93
Thief
River Falls - Ruth A. Johnson, 93, formerly
from the Thief River Falls area, died Sunday,
February 25, 2001, at Wood County Hospital in
Bowling Green, Ohio.
Funeral
services were held Wednesday, February 28, 2001 at
St. Mark's Lutheran church in Bowling Green, Ohio,
with Rev. Dale Schaefer officiating.
A
memorial service will be held at the Green Funeral
Home, Saturday, March 24, at 10:30 a.m., followed
by burial at the Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River
Falls.
Ruth
A. Bergquist was born June 12, 1907 in Lake Benton,
the daughter of John and Ida Mary (Swanson)
Bergquist. She moved to the Thief River Falls area
as a young lady.
On
September 30, 1935, Ruth was united in marriage to
Harold Johnson at Middle River after which they
farmed in the Goodridge community until 1957, when
they moved to Eveleth. Harold died on December 7,
1962. In 1969, Ruth moved to Bowling Green, Ohio,
where she has since resided.
She
was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran church and the
Rebekah Lodge.
Survivors
include a son, Wayne of Bowling Green; two
grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She
was preceded in death by her husband Harold, her
parents, six brothers, and her sisters.
Memorials
in lieu of flowers can be sent to: St. Mark's
Lutheran Church (building fund), 315 South College
Drive, Bowling Green, Ohio.
Arrangements
for the services in Thief River Falls were made
through Green Funeral Home.
