Madeline Johnson, 97

Warren - Madeline Johnson, 97, formerly of Thief River Falls, died Wednesday, August 15, 2001 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Warren.

No services will be held. She will be buried in Chicago, Ill. near her father and other family members.

Wilhelmina Madeline Johnson was born on September 20, 1903 in Renville City. After graduating from nursing school in 1926, she moved to Chicago, Ill. and then to Warroad.

In 1938, Madeline married Dr. Myron Johnson. In 1944, the couple moved to Thief River Falls where Dr. Johnson practiced dentistry fro more than 30 years. They retired to Valley Home where Dr. Johnson died. Madeline had been a resident of Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Warren since 1991.

She was a member of the Methodist Church in Thief River Falls and enjoyed playing golf and bridge and entertaining.

Madeline is survived by a son, James Doyle Jr. of Vero Beach, Fla.; three granddaughters; one step granddaughter; nine great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
