LeRoy "Bud" Johnson, 84

Argyle - LeRoy "Bud" Johnson, 84, died on Tuesday, July 29, 2003 at the Good Samaritan Center in Warren.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 2 at the Community Presbyterian Church in Argyle with the Rev. Don Casmey officiating. Casketbearers were Howard Lamberson, Carl Haugen, Jeff Beaudry, Verne Nyblad, John Schmidt, Edgar LaBine, Victor Sletten and Art Hebert. Honorary casketbearers were Newell Aas, Amos Larson, Russell Larson, Charles Field, Evald Clausen and John DeBrito. Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery in Argyle.

LeRoy Johnson was born in Argyle on April 23, 1919, the son of Carl and Clara (Larson) Johnson. He was raised in Albert Lea before returning to Argyle. He attended country school.

On December 27, 1941 he married Inez Poolman. The couple made their home in Argyle where he farmed until his retirement in 1977. He also drove school bus from 1959 until 1992 for the Argyle School District. He was a trustee, elder and treasurer of the Community Presbyterian Church. He was also on the board of directors for the Argyle Co-op Creamery for several years and was a member of the Argyle Lions Club and the Thief River Falls Eagles. He loved his family and the children that rode his bus. He enjoyed square dancing with Inez, golfing and taking care of the garden and lawn.

Survivors include his wife, Inez; two daughters, Elaine (Harlan) Yell of Argyle and Carol (Gerald) Hanson of Fargo, N.D.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
