Dennis Johnson, 54

Stillwater - Dennis E. Johnson, 54, died on Monday, December 9, 2002.

Funeral services were held on Monday, December 16 at Bethel Johnson_Dennis Lutheran Church in St. Paul. Casketbearers were his nephews, Eric and Christopher Johnson, Charlie Brown, Donald Holmquist and Daniel and Benjamin Lamm. Interment was held in Forst Snelling National Cemetery.

Dennis Erling Johnson was born on January 19, 1948 in Fargo, N.D. He graduated from Staples High School in 1966 and enlisted in the United States Army. He served in Germany in the Military Police and in Vietnam as a criminal invesitgator. On January 30, 1971, he married Karen Cleasman in Long Prairie. He graduated from the University of North Dakota Law School on May 16, 1982. He was currently employed at the Stillwater State Correctional Facility as a sports/freelance photographer. He enjoyed photography, fishing, hunting, family and aspired to become a writer.

Survivors include his wife, Karen; a daughter, Melissa; his mother, Ernestine; his father, Erling (Emily); sisters, Joyce (Al) Schlinger; Lois Baker and Sara (Paul) Parthun; brothers, Bruce (Karen), Curtis (Vicki) and Glen; and many nieces and nephews.
