Saturday, January 19, 2002 at Union Hospital in
Mayville, N.D.
Funeral
services were held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, January
22, at Stennes Funeral Home Chapel in East Grand
Forks. Interment was in Woodmen Cemetery in Middle
River.
Darwin
Johnson was born on September 7, 1936 in Thief
River Falls, the son of Earl and Viola Johnson. He
attended Grand Forks (N.D.) Central High School and
married Bonnie Zipoy in March of 1959 at Tabor.
Darwin worked as a brick layer in construction in
the Greater Grand Forks area.
Survivors
include a daughter, Jayne (Steve) Nelson of Grand
Forks; two sons, Jay (Jane) Johnson of East Grand
Forks and Jeff Johnson of Park Rapids; eight
grandchildren; a sister, Gail Groff of Brentwood,
Calif.; two brothers, Steve Anderson of Grand Forks
and Terry Anderson of Omaha, Neb.; and his
stepfather, Leonel "Leo" Anderson of Grand Forks.
Darwin
was preceded in death by his parents and
grandmother, Signey "Jonnie" Johnson.
