Jablinske, Myrtle photoThief River Falls - Myrtle Jablinske, 84, died Friday, February 27, 2004 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.

Funeral services were held Monday, March 1, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, with Rev. Tim Bauer officiating. Casket bearers included: Mike Nessen, Jon Nessen, Kurt Jablinske, Chris Opdahl, Shane Opdahl, Cody Jablinske and Kaine Jablinske. Interment was held at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls.

Myrtle Jeanette Rude was born November 23, 1919, in Granite Falls, the daughter of Roy J. and Mabel (Olson) Rude. She was baptized into the Christian Faith in Granite Falls. At the age of 8, Myrtle and her family moved to North Township. She grew up and attended Northrup, County Line and Northstar Schools. Myrtle was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church.

On October 11, 1938, Myrtle was united in marriage to Wilbert "Willie" Jablinske at Trinity Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls. She was employed for several years at the Sioux Café, Inga's Café and NuWay Café in Thief River Falls. She enjoyed being a homemaker and enjoyed activities with her children, grandchildren and their friends.

Myrtle was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Thief River Falls, where she taught Sunday school, was Circle Chairman and served on the church council.

Survivors include her children, Marlene Nessen of Thief River Falls, Beverly Jablinske of Thief River Falls, Katherine "Kathy" (Tom) Opdahl of Minneapolis and Roger (Deb) of Thief River Falls; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one brother, Rudolph (Helen) Rude of Thief River Falls; sisters-in-law, Linda Olson of Thief River Falls, Marie Peterson of East Grand Forks, and Lydia (Howard) Spaars of Burlington, Wash.; brother-in-law, Maynard (Alvina) of Lynwood, Wash.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie; an infant son and daughter; her parents; sister, Margaret Kelleher, brothers, James, Ernest and Jerold Rude, and son-in-law, Chet Nessen.
