Goodridge
- Clenora Iverson, 83, died Tuesday, March 23,
2004 at CNC Unit, Northwest Medical Center in Thief
River Falls.
Funeral
services were held on Saturday, March 27, at
Ekelund Lutheran Church in rural Goodridge, with
Rev. Robert Dahlen officiating. Casket bearers
included Jerry Jensen, Keith Sandlin, Dennis Hovet,
Darwin Eidelbes, Dale Anderson and Dane Jensen.
Interment was held at Ekelund Cemetery in
Highlanding Township, Pennington County.
Helen
Clenora Kompen was born April 1, 1920 in Lyon
County, Minnesota to Gudbrand and Julia (Broughton)
Kompen. She grew up on her parents' farm in the
Erie area and attended country school nearby. She
was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.
On
February 9, 1947 Clenora was united in marriage to
Alfred James Iverson at Trinity Lutheran Church in
Thief River Falls. The couple purchased a farm in
Star Township of Pennington County, and worked
together there until Alfred's death in 1999. Her
failing health led to her residence at the CNC Unit
at Northwest Medical Center.
Clenora
was a member of Ekelund Lutheran Church. She was
devoted to her sons and loved visiting with her
family. She was an excellent cook.
Clenora
is survived by her son, Leslie Iverson of
Goodridge; sisters, Hilda Hoffman and Agnes Jensen
both of Thief River Falls and numerous nieces and
nephews.
She
was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred; son,
Gary; and brother, Alvin Kompen.
