- Anna Irvin, 95, formerly of Thief River
Falls, died on Monday, April 21, 2003.
Memorial
services will be held on Thursday, May 15 at 9:30
a.m. in the community room at Midtown Manor II in
Duluth.
Anna S.
Sloter was born on September 12, 1907, the daughter
of William and Anna Sloter, in Eureka, Ill. She and
her family operated a farm near Plummer. She worked
as a welder in the Vancouver, Wash. Shipyards
during World War II. Anna returned to Thief River
Falls and worked as a baker for 20 years and was
later in charge of the Tool Room for Aviation
Mechanics at the TRF Area Vocational School,
retiring in 1987. She was a member of the Daughters
of Norway, American Legion, VFW, and the Eagles.
Survivors
include daughters, Jean Harteloo of Vancouver,
Wash., Bette Helland of Duluth, Janette (Robert)
Fox of Mizpah, and Polly (Rick) Pizzi of Kaslo,
B.C.; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one
brother, three sisters; and many other relatives
and friends.
Anna was
preceded in death by her husband, Paul; two
daughters, Doris Canfield and Donna Irvin; three
sons, Donald, Howard and Harold; one grandson; a
great-granddaughter; seven brothers; and two
