Edna Inglis, 83

Thief River Falls - Edna Inglis, 83, died Tuesday, November 6, 2001 at Oakland Park Nursing Home in Thief River Falls.

Funeral services were held at 2 Inglis Obit p.m. on Saturday, November 10, at Grace Lutheran Church in Hallock with Rev. Robert Kippley officiating. Special music was provided by Laurel and Lynden Johnson. Casketbearers were Dr. Harry Hanson, Bryan Inglis, Brad Inglis, Mandy Inglis, Keith Anderson and Kenny Anderson. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery in Hallock with Green Funeral Home of Thief River Falls in charge of the arrangements.

Edna Morgan was born on January 19, 1918 in Big Woods, the daughter of Henry and Hedvig (Johnson) Morgan. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith and attended school in Oslo. When she was 16 years old, Edna started working at Chip's Cafe in Hallock.

In 1941, she was united in marriage to Andy Inglis in Duluth. She was employed at the Golden Rule Store and Hallock Gambles store before going to work for Dr. Harry Hanson in his dental practice. Edna worked for Dr. Hanson for more than 30 years before her retirement in 1988. Andy died in 1980, and Edna moved to Thief River Falls in 1990. She resided with her son and his family for two years prior to moving to Oakland Park Nursing Home in 1994.

Edna was a member of Grace Lutheran Church of Hallock, Royal Neighbors and the VFW Auxiliary.

She enjoyed canning, gardening and especially, taking care of her family.

Survivors include a son, Garry (Judy) Inglis of Thief River Falls; three grandchildren; a brother, Clayton of Duluth; a sister, Elsie Rue of Argyle; and several nieces and nephews.

Edna was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two sisters, Cora Knutson and Inez Morgan; and four brothers, Norman, Harry, Russell and Wallace. A00003B2001NV14
