Paul Hushagen, 43

Fergus Falls - Paul Anton Hushagen, 43, formerly of Thief River Falls, died on Wednesday, August 21, 2002 at his home in Fergus Falls.

A family directed memorial service is pending and interment will be held in Fairview Cemetery in Erskine. Memorials can be sent to Lakeland Hospice, PO Box 824, Fergus Falls, MN 56538-0824.

Paul Anton Hushagen was born on April 9, 1959, the son of Berton R. and Ida C. "Trudie" (Goebel) Hushagen, in New Prague. He was baptized in the Lutheran faith in Montgomery and confirmed in Thief River Falls. He went to elementary and junior high school in Sandy, Utah and Columbus, Wisc. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls in 1977.

Paul served in the United States Marine Corps for four years in the ordinance department, stationed in Japan, the Philippines, California and Arizona. He studied at the University of Minnesota in Duluth and Winona. He worked as a copywriter and a printer.

Survivors include his parents, Berton and Trudie Hushagen of Fergus Falls; one brother, Brian (Jean) Hushagen of Bismarck, N.D.; one sister, Nora Hushagen of San Diego, Calif.; three nephews; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Paul was preceded in death by his grandparents, Anton and Nora Hushagen and Adolph and Hazel Goebel.
