Thief
River Falls - Ruby Huseth, 81, died on
Thursday, September 25, 2003 at Northwest Medical
Center in Thief River Falls.
Funeral
services were held on
Monday,
September 29 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Thief
River Falls with the Rev. Tim Bauer officiating.
Casketbearers were John Peterson, Dan Olson, Jamie
McEnelly, Tom Wang, Dan Bylander and Floyd Hagman.
Honorary casketbearers were the Northwest Medical
Center Hospital Auxiliary members. Interment was in
Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls.
Ruby
Christine Haugen was born on July 18, 1922 in Thief
River Falls, the daughter of Knute and Gena Haugen.
She was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church and
attended school in Thief River Falls, graduating
from Lincoln High School in 1942.
On
December 4, 1946, Ruby was united in marriage to
Harlan Huseth in Tacoma, Wash. The couple lived in
Thief River Falls where Ruby worked at the
Pennington Hotel Coffee Shop in 1958, J and B Drug
Store and she retired from Thrifty White Drug Store
with over 30 years of service. She enjoyed watching
soaps, the Twins and Vikings games, listening to
"Big Red" in the morning, bowling and she loved
spending time with her grandsons. Ruby was a
charter member of the Eagles Auxiliary, a life
member and past president of the VFW Auxiliary,
member and past president of IWVA and a member of
the Northwest Medical Center Hospital
Auxiliary.
Survivors
include two children, James (Kristie) of Thief
River Falls and Marilyn (Gary) Haugen of Thief
River Falls; two grandchildren; and several nieces
and nephews.
Ruby
was preceded in death by her husband, Harlan; her
parents; brothers, Gayhard Haugen and Conrad
Haugen; and sisters, Josephine Young, Caroline Dahl
and Lorraine "Nettie" Haugen.
