Anne Horachek, 85

Goodridge - Anne B. Horachek, 85, died Thursday, January 31, 2002 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.

Mass of Christian burial was held Horachek Obit b/w Tuesday, February 5, at 11 a.m. at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Goodridge with Father Tim Noah officiating. Barb Melby was the organist, and special music was provided by the church choir. Casketbearers were Jerry Johnsrud, Donald Vraa, Steve Lerol, Doug Horachek, Curtis Lerol and Darwin Eidelbes. Honorary casketbearers included all of Anne's nieces and nephews. Interment was in the Czech National Cemetery, rural Goodridge, with Green Funeral Home of Thief River Falls in charge of the arrangements.

Anne Barbara Horachek was born on September 26, 1916 in Highlanding Township of Pennington County, the daughter of Anton and Mary (Bacilek) Horachek. She grew up and attended District 50 School and graduated from Goodridge High School. She worked at Model Laundry and Jung's Bakery in Thief River Falls for a short time. She also did housekeeping for several priests and was currently keeping house for Father Tim Noah in Hallock. Anne also did some housekeeping for area people and worked on the family farm all of her life.

She was a member of St. Ann's Church and its Guild.

Anne enjoyed oil painting, gardening, flowering and sewing.

Survivors include three sisters, Mary Van Lith of Warren, Judith (Kenneth) Lerol of Gilbert, and Karen (Eugene) Nelson of Thief River Falls; a brother, Joseph of Goodridge; two sisters-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.

Anne was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Lydia Hemmesly and her twin, Mary in infancy; three brothers, Donald, Tony and George; and two nephews. A00003B2002FB06
