- Myrtle Homme, 88, formerly of Grygla, died
Wednesday, April 24, 2002 at Sheltering Oaks Manor
Nursing Home in Roseau.
A
funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on
Saturday, May 4, at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church
in Grygla with Rev. Paul Knutson officiating. Joy
Nordby will be the organist, and the soloist will
be Jodi Schulz. Casketbearers will be Susan Myren,
Marilyn Richardson, Kendall Howland, Duane Howland,
and Richard Myren. Interment will be in Our
Saviour's Cemetery, rural Grygla.
Visitation
will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer
service on Friday, May 3, at Green Funeral Home in
Thief River Falls. Visitation will also be held for
one hour prior to services at the church.
Myrtle
Helen Ronning was born on October 30, 1913 at rural
Climax, the daughter of Adolph and Minnie
(Gjestrum) Ronning. She was baptized and confirmed
at Sand Hill Lutheran Church, rural Climax, and
attended a rural Climax school.
Myrtle
was united in marriage to Knute Arneson. He died in
1960. She later married Knute Homme. He died in
1982.
She
was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church of
Grygla and its Ladies Aid.
Myrtle
enjoyed quilting, flower gardens, and embroidery.
Survivors
include two daughters, Kathleen Marian (Torjus)
Myren of Paradise, Calif. and Carol Howland of
Glendora, Calif.; a daughter-in-law, Carol Arneson
of Minden, N.Y.; eight grandchildren; 12
great-grandchildren; a sister, Gladys (Rev. Victor)
Saude; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding
Myrtle in death were her husbands; two sons, Leo
and Alvin; a son-in-law, Vernon Howland; her
parents; a sister, Benora Tendeland; and two
brothers, Raymond and Arnold Ronning.
