Homme, 90
Thief
River Falls - Gust Homme, 90, died Saturday,
December 15, 2001 at the CNC Unit of Northwest
Medical Center in Thief River Falls.

Funeral
services will be held at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday,
December 19) at Bethany Lutheran Church, rural
Thief River Falls, with Rev. Robert Dahlen
officiating. Marian Marques will be the organist,
and the soloist will be Kristin Dahlen.
Casketbearers will be Bud Homme, Orlin Homme, Steve
Homme, Robert Homme, Steven Harder and Wayne
Harder. Honorary casketbearers will be Gust's
grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Tina Homme,
Jarod Hahn, Shane Homme, Angie Homme, Kayleen Hahn,
Jarod Hahn Jr., Joey Pederson and Jenny Pederson.
Interment will be in Bethany Cemetery.
Visitation
was held from 4 to 8 p.m with a 7 p.m. prayer
service Tuesday, December 18, at Green Funeral Home
in Thief River Falls. Visitation will also be held
for one hour prior to services at the
church.
Gust
Homme was born on October 9, 1911 in Silverton
Township of Pennington County, the son of Ole and
Thora (Roysland) Homme. He attended a country
school and was baptized and confirmed at Bethany
Lutheran Church.
On
June 20, 1942, Gust was united in marriage to
Gladys Pederson in Grand Forks, N.D. Gust farmed
most of his life and also worked as a farm laborer
for Melvin Joppru.
He
served on the Bethany Church board, Bethany
Cemetery board and Silverton Township
board.
Gust
enjoyed hunting, fishing, working with animals,
playing cards and spending time with his family and
friends.
Survivors
include a son, Randy (Ann) of Thief River Falls; a
daughter, Rosie (Rodger) Shaver of Erskine; four
grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother,
Tom Homme of Thief River Falls; special friend,
Gladys Homme of Thief River Falls; and several
nieces and nephews.
Gust
was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Larry;
a daughter, Gloria Harder; a son-in-law, Allen
Harder; three sisters, Anne, Thelma and Thora; and
five brothers, Ted, Ole, Clarance, Obert and one in
