Ida Hofmann, 83

Duluth - Ida Betsy Hofmann, 83, formerly of Grygla, died on Thursday, January 30, 2003 at St. Mary's Medical Center.

Funeral services were held on Monday, February 3 at Glen Avon Presbyterian Church in Duluth with Rev. Robyn Weaver officiating. Interment was in Park Hill Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer's Association.

Ida Betsy Byklum was born on May 20, 1919, the daughter of Halvor and Bella Byklum in Grygla. On May 7, 1948, she was united in marriage to Howard Franklin Hofmann in Thief River Falls. Since 1950, she has been a resident of Duluth. She worked as a cashier for the National Tea Grocery from 1955 until her retirement in 1975. She was a member of Glen Avon Presbyterian Church, where she did volunteer work. She loved gardening and enjoyed cooking.

Survivors include her daughter, Bonnie Kupczynski of Duluth; a son, Steve (Diane) of Duluth; four grandchildren; former son-in-law, Richard Kupzcynski of Hermantown; nieces and nephews; and her friends at Longview House.

Ida was preceded in death by her parents; her 12 brothers and sisters; and her husband, Howard.
