Thief
River Falls - Rueben Hoffman, 79, died Friday,
August 10, 2001 at Northwest Medical Center in
Thief River Falls.
Funeral
services were held at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 13,
at Green Funeral Home Chapel in Thief River Falls
with Rev. Bob Dahlen officiating. Diane Johnson
provided special music. Interment was in Greenwood
Cemetery in Thief River Falls.
Rueben
Hoffman was born on May 26, 1922 in Excel township
of Marshall county, the son of Oscar and Jennie
(Myhrer) Hoffman. He attended school in Thief River
Falls. Rueben served in the U.S. Army at Walla
Walla, Wash. from 1942 until 1946.
On
February 28, 1959, he was united in marriage to
Margaret Thomas in Viking. He worked at Lambert
Lumber and Northern Woodwork for 28 years and then
Puetz Cabinets, all in Thief River Falls, until his
retirement.
Rueben
was a member of the American Legion and
Eagles.
He
enjoyed gardening, mowing the lawn and being
outdoors.
Rueben is
survived by his wife, Margaret; a daughter, Barbara
Hoffman of Thief River Falls; a son, Gary (Anita)
Hoffman of Thief River Falls; two step
grandchildren; a step great-grandchild; two
sisters, June Hultman of Thief River Falls and
Helen (Walter) Mangnell of Albany, Ore.; and
several nieces and nephews.
He was
preceded in death by his parents and three
brothers, George, Melvin and Arnold.
