Hjelle, 74
Thief
River Falls - Lila Hjelle, 74, died on Tuesday,
October 15, 2002 at the CNC Unit of Northwest
Medical Center in Thief River Falls.
Funeral
services were held on 
Friday,
October 18 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in
Newfolden with Rev. Dan Heath officiating. Lenore
Johnson was the pianist and Tiffany Sorenson was
the soloist. Special music included "Amazing Grace"
and "Go Rest High On That Mountain." Casketbearers
were Brian Bruns, Chad Anderson, Travas Knutson,
Jami Sorenson, Dave Sorenson and Eric Rendulich.
Honorary casketbearers were all of Lila's family
and friends at the service. Interment was in Oak
Grove Cemetery in Newfolden.
Lila
Mae Hjelle was born on May 3, 1928, the daughter of
Otto and Marie (Nyflot) Hjelle in Newfolden. She
was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith
and attended country school near
Newfolden.
Lila
farmed on her parents farm. In 1990, she moved to
Thief River Falls, where she has since resided. She
enjoyed embroidering and playing bingo and loved
spending time with her family and
friends.
Survivors
include one sister, Carol Potucek of Thief River
Falls; four grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Gail
of Thief River Falls; special friends, Tressa
Telebosky and Robert Rendulich; and several nieces
and nephews.
Lila
was preceded in death by one son, Layton; her
parents; and a sister, Eunice Sorenson.
