River Falls - Hubert Havlik, 81, died Thursday,
June 27, 2002 at Valley Home in Thief River
Falls.
Funeral
services were held at 11
a.m.
on Monday, July 1, at Johnson-Green Funeral Home in
Thief River Falls with Rev. Dan Horn officiating.
Ida Nordvall was the organist, and Lois Anderson
was the soloist. Hubert's family and friends served
as casketbearers. Honorary casketbearers included
all of the residents and staff members at Valley
Home. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery in Thief
River Falls.
Hubert
Joseph Havlik was born on November 29, 1920 in
Plummer, the son of Joseph and Mary (Vacek) Havlik.
He grew up and attended school in Plummer. He
farmed with his parents near Plummer until he moved
to the state school in Brainerd where he lived for
many years and proudly raised and lowered the flag
each day and delivered mail to the residents.
Following his retirement, he continued to live in
Brainerd until he became ill. He moved to Hillcrest
Nursing Home where he lived for a short time before
moving to Valley Home in Thief River Falls on
January 17, 1991.
Hubert
enjoyed helping his neighbors with their farm work
and vegetable and flower gardening.
Survivors
include a sister, Marietta Jorgensen of Thief River
Falls; and several nieces, great nephews, great
nieces, and great grandnephews.
Preceding
Hubert in death were his parents; three sisters,
LaVerne Fabricius and infant twin sisters; and an
