Sharol "JoAnn" Haugen, 56

Thief River Falls - Sharol "JoAnn" Haugen, 56, died on Wednesday, February 12, 2003 at her home in Thief River Falls.

Service of Remembrance was Sharol Haugen held on Monday, February 17 at Johnson-Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls with the Rev. Tim McGee officiating.

Sharol JoAnn Marciniak was born on April 13, 1946, the daughter of William "Bill" and Doris Ione (Rasmussen) Marciniak in Crookston. She grew up and attended school in Drayton, N.D.

In 1965, she was united in marriage to James Lee Emerson in Minneapolis. The couple made their home in Thief River Falls.

Sharol married Lee John Haugen, Sr. in 1975 and the couple made their home in Alvarado. In 1979, Sharol returned to Thief River Falls and was employed as a cook at Iver's Café and also worked at other various jobs. She also worked at Northern Pride for seven years.

Sharol liked to play games, Game Boy, puzzles and enjoyed watching television. She liked to watch and collect Scooby Doo and go shopping. She mostly enjoyed being with her three sons.

Survivors include her sons, James Emerson of Grand Forks, N.D., Jeffery Emerson of Salt Lake City, Utah and Lee John Haugen, Jr. of Thief River Falls; one grandchild; her mother, Doris Marciniak; sisters, Aurelia Landreville, Melda Marciniak and Virginia Bustrack, all of Thief River Falls, and her twin sister, Sharon Millang of Milwaukee, Wisc.; brothers, William Marciniak, Jr. of Halstad, Curtis Marciniak of Circle Pines and Dwight Marciniak of Alvarado.
