Thief
River Falls - Richard Hanson, 47, died Friday,
October 17, 2003 at his home in Thief River Falls.
Funeral
services were held
Tuesday,
Oct. 21st, at Johnson-Green Funeral Chapel in Thief
River Falls, with the Reverend Terri Cuppett
officiating. Interment was at St. Pauli Cemetery.
Casket bearers included: Donald Hanson, Rodney
Hanson, Wallace Torkelson, Mervin Curry, Perry
Curry, Frank Sonczalla, John Halvorson and Vincent
Hess.
Richard
Hanson was born October 11, 1956, the son of Eddie
and Agnes (Torkelson) Hanson, at Red Lake Falls. He
was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran Faith.
The family moved to Minneapolis, in 1968, where
Richard graduated from High School in 1974.
He
worked for many years as an animal control officer
for Hennepin County. He then attended and graduated
from Minneapolis Technical College with a degree in
Network Administration. In 1998, he moved to Thief
River Falls.
Richard
enjoyed sports and fantasy football. He was a fan
of the Los Angeles Lakers, Oakland Raiders and
Atlanta Braves.
He
is survived by his mother; one brother, Donald
(Pat), Prior Lake; one sister, Marlene Hanson, Sauk
Rapids; three nieces; a nephew and many great
nieces and nephews.
He
was preceded in death by his father.
