Edna Hanson, 79

Babbitt - Edna Hanson, 79, formerly of Goodridge, died Tuesday, September 18, 2001 at Kindred Hospital of Minnesota in Golden Valley.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 21, at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Babbitt.

Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, September 23, at Germantown Cemetery in German-town with Green Funeral Home of Thief River Falls in charge of the arrangements.

Edna Johanna Rossett was born on January 12, 1922 in Goodridge, the daughter of Ludvig and Marie Rossett.

On January 1, 1941, she was married to Curtis Hanson in Mavie. The couple farmed in the Goodridge area until 1951 when they moved to Babbitt.

Edna was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, houseplants, reading, crafts and especially spending time with her family.

Survivors include four daughters, MariLynn "Tootsie" (Jerry) Smith of St. Louis Park, Jeanne (Richard "Rip") Ripley of Coon Rapids, Donna Hanson (special friend Harry Burke) of Yorba Linda, Calif. and Becky Madsen of Shoreview; three brothers, Lawrence (Mavis) Rossett of Babbitt, John (Peggy) Rossett of of Ely and Richard (Dolly) Rossett of Embarrass; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Edna was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
