Warren Hamrick, 71

Warren - Warren Hamrick, 71, died Friday, June 21, 2002 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, N.D.

Funeral services were held at Hamrick obit 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 25, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Warren. Military rites were accorded by Warren American Legion Post 27. Interment was in Melo Lutheran Cemetery in Brandt Township of Polk County with Quanrud-DuBore Funeral Home of Warren in charge of the arrangements.

Warren E. Hamrick was born on June 3, 1931 in Warren, the son of Frank and Anna (Olson) Hamrick. He was a lifelong resident of Helgeland Township in Polk County. Warren attended Helgeland Four Corner School and graduated from the Northwest School of Agriculture in Crookston in 1949. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Korea from 1952 to 1954.

On June 2, 1961, Warren was united in marriage to Dorothy Flaten at Melo Lutheran Church. The couple resided in Helgeland Township where they operated a grain and dairy farm.

Warren served on the Helgeland town board for 30 years, PKM Electric Coop board for 20 years, and the Northwest School of Agriculture Reunion board. He was a member of Melo Lutheran Church where he held various offices and was a 20-year Triangle 4-H leader.

He enjoyed farming, hunting, bowling, sports, and especially, his family and grandchildren.

Warren is survived by his wife, Dorothy; four sons, Wayne (Linda), Donavon (Linda), Kevin (Lori), and Steve, all of Warren; a daughter, Joann Hamrick of Fargo, N.D.; 10 grandchildren; a sister, June (Ray) Edgar of Warren; a brother, Lowell (Shirley) Hamrick of Warren; a sister-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother, Darrell Hamrick. A00003B2002JU26
