- Leona Hammerback, 87, died on Friday,
September 5, 2003 at the Good Samaritan Center in
Warren.
Funeral
services were held on 
Monday,
September 8 at Our Savior's Free Lutheran Church in
Argyle. Interment was in Woodlawn Cemtery in
Warren.
Leona
Denise Parent was born on October 1, 1915 in
Argyle, the daughter of Alex and Amanda (Sourdiff)
Parent. She was a life-long resident of the Argyle
community, where she also attended school.
On
April 27, 1936 she was united in marriage to
Charley Hammerback in Argyle. The couple made their
home in Argyle. Leona was an active member of Our
Savior's Lutheran Free Church and the Argyle
American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed taking care
of her family and friends when they needed help.
She also like to play cards and was a member of the
31 Card Club.
Survivors
include three children, Shirley (Dennis) Rosseau of
Argyle, Charles (Elizabeth) Hammerback of Warren
and Dianne (Robert) Dammann of Stephen; six
grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister,
Rose Parent of Grand Forks, N.D.; and many nieces
and nephews.
Leona
was preceded in death by her parents; her husband,
Charley; and 10 brothers and four sisters, Eva
Olson, Leila Kahan, Leo, Camille, Henry, Alma
Deleski, Paul, Albert, LeRoy, Marie Haskins,
George, Clarence, Alfred and Clifford.
