Kenneth Halvorson, 64

Thief River Falls - Kenneth L. Halvorson, 64, died Sunday, July 29, 2001 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.

Funeral services were held Halvorson obit-color Tuesday, July 31, at 6 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Viking with Rev. Ollie Urdahl officiating. Gloria Ness was the organist, and special music was presented by Virgil and Marville Hjelle. Casketbearers were Donnie Srnsky, Tom Srnsky, Larry Martinson, Tim Waterworth, Matt Waterworth, Donnie Anderson and Joey Halvorson. Interment was in Bethlehem Cemetery in New Solum township of Marshall county with Green Funeral Home of Thief River Falls in charge of the arrangements.

Kenneth LeRoy Halvorson was born on April 27, 1937 in Helgeland township of Polk county, the son of Hagebert and Anna (Stone) Halvorson. He attended Pembina Trail country school.

Kenneth worked on the family farm and for area farmers. He raised sheep and cows and grew small grains. Since June 25, 1998, he had resided at Oakland Park Nursing Home in Thief River Falls.

He enjoyed deer hunting, spending time with his nieces and nephews, gardening and attending auction sales.

Kenneth is survived by a sister, Clarice (Russell) Floberg of Viking; two brothers, Elmer Halvorson of Puyallup, Wash. and Curtis (Pam) Halvorson of Viking; several nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Chester; a sister-in-law; and a nephews.
