Argyle
- Norman Hagen, 92, died on Saturday, June 28,
2003 at the Good Samaritan Center in
Warren.
Funeral
services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July
3 at the Alma Lutheran Church in rural Argyle.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on
Wednesday, July 2 at the Quanrud-DuBore Funeral
Home in Warren and for one hour prior to services
at the church on Thursday. Interment will be in
Alma Lutheran Cemetery in rural Argyle.
Norman W.
Hagen was born in Baudette on July 15, 1910, the
son of Sivert and Annie (Rosing) Hagen. Norman and
his family survived the 1910 Baudette fire. He
moved with his family to Greenbush, where he
attended school. In the early 1930s, he moved to
rural Argyle, where he farmed. Norman was also the
Marshall County Assessor for more than 20 years. In
January 1997, he moved to the Good Samaritan
Center.
Norman
had a love of horses, having raised, bought and
sold many varieties, from Shetlands to Belgians to
donkeys. He enjoyed giving sleigh rides in the
winter and entering parades in the summer. He had a
love for all animals. He was also an active member
of the Alma Lutheran Church, working with the
Sunday School program and holding many different
offices. He enjoyed visiting with family and
friends.
Survivors
include a brother, Elmer (Doris) of Rapid City,
S.D.; a sister-in-law, Sigrid Hagen of East Grand
Forks; and 12 nieces and five nephews.
Norman
was preceded in death by his parents; four
brothers, Ingvald, Arthur, Clarence and Herbert;
sister, Minnie Anderson; and three nephews and one
niece.
