Edna Gustafson, 78 Viking - Edna Gustafson, 78, died on Monday, August 25, 2003 at Good Samaritan Center in Warren. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 29 at Zion Lutheran Church in Viking with the Rev. Luther Peterson officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 28 at Johnson-Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls with a 7 p.m. prayer service and for one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Interment will be in Viking Cemetery in Viking. Edna Bernice Eggen was born on June 3, 1925 in Higdem Township of Polk County, the daughter of Brungulf A. and Emelie (Olson) Eggen. She was baptized and confirmed at Kongsvinger Lutheran Church in Oslo. She attended Oslo High School. On November 28, 1959, Edna was united in marriage to LeRoy Gustafson in Oslo. She was employed as a part-time postal clerk at the Viking Post Office and also worked at the Good Samaritan Center in Warren for a couple of winters. Edna was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and served as an officer in WELCA and an officer on the LCW of the Thief River Falls Conference. She also held membership in the American Legion Auxiliary in Oslo. Survivors include her husband, LeRoy of Viking; a sister-in-law, Doris Eggen of East Grand Forks; and many nieces and nephews. Edna was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Ragna Schmidt, Annie Dahl and Martha Gulbranson; and brothers, Arthur, Rudolph, Bennie and Harold Eggen. A00003B2003AG27
