Raymond Grochowski, 71

Strandquist &endash; Raymond Paul Grochowski passed away unexpectedly at his home in Strandquist on Friday, June 28. He was 71-years-old. Ray Grochowski

Services were held on Tuesday, July 2, at Assumption Catholic Church in Florian. Interment will be at Assumption Church Cemetery, Florian.

Grochowski was the son of the late Walter and Plidy (Chwialkowski) Grochowski. He was born on June 22, 1931, in Wright Township of Marshall County, near Florian. He grew to manhood in Wright Township, and was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith. On May 4, 1957, he was united in marriage to Loretta Veselka at Strandquist. The couple raised their family and farmed in Wright Township. Later, Ray worked for Dean L. Witcher Construction and for Lakehead Pipe Line. In 1971, they moved to Strandquist and went into partnership in the Rainbow Club. In 1975, he started working for Bumper Supply in Karlstad, and from 1981 to 1983, he worked for American Crystal Sugar. He continued farming on a smaller scale.

He is survived by his wife, Loretta: one daughter: Karen Hendrickson of Strandquist; four sons: Michael of Brooklyn Center; Paul of Belle Plaine; Jerry and his wife Jennifer of Strandquist; and Jonathan of Grand Forks, N.D.; 12 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two brothers: Ferman of South St. Paul; and Louie and his wife Diane of Maple Grove; two sisters: Antoinette Donarski and Eleanor Kuznia, both of Argyle; in addition to several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Walter Jr., and sister Theresa.
