Mildred Griffith, 99

Kent, Wash. - Mildred Griffith, 99, formerly of Roseau, died on Saturday, August 30, 2003 in Seattle, Wash.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, September 12 at Edline-Yahn Funeral Chapel. Inurnment will be in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.

Mildred M. Griffith was born on October 31, 1903 in Sheldon, Iowa. She lived in south King County, Wash., for nine years. She was an elementary school teacher for 18 years in Minnesota and was a member of the Minnesota Teachers Association. She was also a member of the Lutheran Church of Roseau.

Survivors include her sons, Scott Griffith of Ellensburg, Wash., Roy Griffith of Mount Vernon and Gary Griffith of Renton, Wash.; a sister, Alice Simonson of Roseau; 22 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 15 great great-grandchildren.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie C. Griffith; a daughter, Marilyn McWilliams; and a son, Merle W. Griffith.
