Phyllis Grant, 94

Hillsboro, N.D. - Phyllis Grant, 94, died Wednesday, June 26, 2002 at Hillsboro Medical Center Nursing Home in Hillsboro, N.D.

A funeral service was held Tuesday, July 2, at 11 a.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Hillsboro. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery in Hillsboro with Wildeman Funeral Home of Hillsboro in charge of the arrangements.

Phyllis Esther Pierce was born on July 27, 1907 in Page, N.D. She was the daughter of Thomas and Clara (Parsons) Pierce. She grew up and attended school in Fargo, N.D. and later attended Moorhead State Teachers College. She then taught in schools in Lynchburg and Engelvale, N.D.

On August 26, 1935, Phyllis was united in marriage to Lars Grant. The couple resided in Walcott, N.D. and Felton and Borup before moving to Hillsboro in 1946.

Survivors include two sons, Lawrence (Linda) Grant of Thief River Falls and David Grant of Geelong, Victoria, Australia; a daughter, Peggy Grant of Abiquiu, N.M.; a brother, Robert Pierce of Vero Beach, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Phyllis in death was her husband in 1993.
