River Falls - Ethelbert Goodwin, 59, died on
October 4, 2002 at Innovis Hospital in Fargo,
N.D.
Funeral
services will be held on Wednesday, October 9
(today) at 10
a.m.
at God Assembly of White Earth in White Earth with
Rev. Tim Brown officiating. Casketbearers will be
Tim St. Clair, Richard St. Clair, Douglas St.
Clair, Lonnie St. Clair, Dennis St. Clair and Danny
St. Clair. Honorary casketbearers will be Laura
Morgan, Judy Neadeau, Bonnie Nelson and Lou Ann St.
Clair.
Ethelbert
Caroline St. Clair was born on May 25, 1943, the
daughter of Herbert Paul and Corrine Frances
(Fairbanks) St. Clair in White Earth. She was
baptized in 1943 and confirmed in 1956 at St.
Benedicts Catholic Church in White Earth. She
attended two years at Waubun High School and two
years at St. Paul Vocational Technology
School.
Ethelbert
worked in nursing from 1960 until 1978 in
Minneapolis. From 1983 until 1988, she worked as a
Native American Court Advocate with the courts in
Bemidji. On August 16, 1980, she was united in
marriage to Lyle James Goodwin in Naytahwaush.
Ethelbert enjoyed Native American arts and crafts,
traditional powwows and a good game of
bingo.
Survivors
include her husband, Lyle J. Goodwin of
Naytahwaush; son, Gerald "Gerry" (Kelly Gruenberg)
Neadeau of Hawly; four daughters, Marilyn (Vince)
Olson of Mahnomen, Maureen "Marie" Neadeau of Thief
River Falls, Edith "Sue" (Mike Randberg) Neadeau of
Thief River Falls and Terri Neadeau of Red Lake;
six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four
brothers, Meral St. Clair of White Earth, Peter
"Denny" St. Clair of White Earth, William "Billy"
St. Clair of Minneapolis and James "Jimmy" (Helen)
St. Clair of Coon Rapids; three sisters, Josephine
"JoAnn" St. Clair of Minneapolis, Harriet St. Clair
Hanks of White Earth and Carol Zawislak of Fridley;
two uncles; and many nieces, nephews and
friends.
Ethelbert
was preceded in death by her parents and other
